Date Sold 9/9/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 10" x 12 3/4") (Learn More) Chinatown Nights, the 1929 William A. Wellman Asia Tong War romantic crime melodrama ("From Samuel Ornitz' story Tong War"; "A Talking Romance"; about a society woman who falls in love with the white leader of an Asian gang, and she ruins her life, but he truly loves her, and he nobly sacrifices himself so she can regain her former status) starring Wallace Beery, Florence Vidor, Warner Oland (playing an evil Oriental; this is ironic since he later became famous as "Charlie Chan" in the 20th Century Fox series!), Jack McHugh and Jack Oakie. Note that it was after this movie that Florence Vidor retired, and the movie was shot as a silent, and she quit before it could have sound added, and she refused to return to do the dubbing, and it was dubbed by a different actress instead (a very similar thing happened to Louise Brooks with "The Canary Murder Case", which was made the same year by Paramount)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this title card has been trimmed and it now measures 10" x 12 3/4". Condition: fair to good. Someone trimmed off all four borders, and there are creases and tears around the edges of the card. Other than the above, the card is in pretty good condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
