An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Call of the Canyon, the 1942 Joseph Santley singing cowboy western musical ("Public Cowboy No. 1!"; "Original Story by Maurice Rapf, Olive Cooper") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Bob Nolan & The Sons of the Pioneers, Ruth Terry, Thurston Hall, Joe Strauch Jr., Cliff Nazarro, and Dorothea Kent. Note that in 1941, the producers had the fun idea of giving sidekick Smiley Burnette (who played "Frog") a youthful sidekick of his own, and they hired young Joe Strauch Jr., who played that part in six of these movies, and naturally, his character was nicknamed "Tadpole"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the middle crossfold, with tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds. It had some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
