Date Sold 1/17/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Monster From the Ocean Floor, the 1954 Wyott Ordung ocean octopus monster scuba diving underwater horror thriller ("Terror strikes! ...from beneath the sea!"; "Terror strikes from beneath the sea!"; "Up from the forbidden depths comes A Tidal Wave Of Terror!"; "See... Fierce battle with man-eating shark!"; "See... monster creature of atomic age!"; produced by Roger Corman) starring Anne Kimbell, Stuart Wade, Dick Pinner, Wyott Ordung, and Inez Palange. Note that the octopus-like monster in this movie (like virtually all 1950s monsters) is strangely attracted to beautiful women in skimpy outfits. What do the monsters do with the girls after they catch them? NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card was hand censored! The artwork for the posters of this movie (along with "The Beast from Haunted Cave") both showed more cleavage than almost any other movie paper of the 1950s, and very often the movie paper from this movie is found with that area covered over with censor paint! While this is certainly a clear defect, it is also an amazing tribute to the straight laced conventions of the time. Imagine how much time it took for people to hand paint each piece of movie paper, one by one. Surely they could have protected the world in some better way! Also, we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The woman's cleavage was covered with some censor paint . Depending on how you look at it, this is either a big defect, or something really cool. We doubt the paint can be easily removed, as usually the censors used a paint that bonded in with the paper. Also, there is small surface paper loss on the back of the upper left corner, but it has little effect on the front. Learn More about condition grades
