A Set of 4 Folded Advertising Posters (one measures 20" x 57" [51 x 145 cm], two measure 17" x 27", and one measures 12" x 35') (Learn More) The Hotpoint Electric Heating Company (generally known simply as Hotpoint) is an American and European brand of domestic appliances which was founded in 1911 by Earl Richardson. The name of the company comes from the "hot point" of the 1905 electric iron that Richardson invented (the hottest point on the iron was at the front and not the center). The company merged with the Heating Device Section of General Electric in 1918 and then became of division of GE when they bought the entire company in 1927. Currently, ownership of the brand is split between the American company Whirlpool, which has European rights, and Chinese company Haier along with American company KKR, which has North American rights. Important Added Info: Note that in 1968, Hotpoint began advertising their appliances on the Tonight Show (and this was during the time when Johnny Carson actually pitched the items himself!), and they created this set of posters (three of which are double-sided, two of which have different images on the reverse) advertising that fact, and one of the four shows Johnny Carson and mentions advertising on the Tonight Show! Of course, because three of the posters are double-sided, we show images of the backs of those, so there are seven images, but the winner of the auction receives the four posters. Note that these posters could be rolled together in a tube, but it might cause slight creasing to them. The alternate will be to send them in a large flat package that measures approximately 22" x 29". Bear this in mind before bidding on this set of posters. Condition: very good to fine.
