An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Love Is On The Air, the 1937 Nick Grinde radio broadcasting mystery crime thriller ("It's a heart-to-heart hookup!"; "From a story by Roy Chanslor") starring Ronald Reagan, June Travis, Eddie Acuff, Ben Welden, and Robert Barrat. Note that a Warner Brothers executive saw radio announcer Ronald Reagan and decided he had the makings of a major movie star, and had him cast in a starring role in this, his very first movie (playing a reporter)! Reagan is one of the very few actors to start "at the top", and after a long career at Warners, he entered politics, and the rest "is history"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1937 movie paper from this movie (which is Ronald Reagan's very first movie) is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a few lobby cards from this movie until we received this one-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had a triangular area of paper loss at the bottom crossfold, affecting the top of the "h". It also had creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss scattered along parts of the folds, with pinholes and smudges in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Obviously, one would prefer to find an example of this poster that did not have the above defects, but it is incredibly scarce, and it might take a lifetime to find such a poster. I would think most collectors could display it as it is, or certainly, any talented restorer could great improve the appearance, either with or without re-backing the poster.
