A Complete Set of 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Heart of a Siren, the 1925 Phil Rosen silent romantic melodrama ("Adapted from the stage play by William Hurlbut"; a real tearjerker, about a great beauty who is spurned by a rich British man at a French hotel, and she wants revenge, so she follows him to France, where she does make him fall in love with her, but by that point she has fallen in love with him; they are happy together, but then his mother tells her that her son will never be happy with her, and she arranges for her husband to catch her with his best friend, and he leaves her, and she goes off to kill herself, but luckily the best friend tells the husband what really happened, and he arrives just in time to save her) starring Barbara La Marr, Conway Tearle, Harry T. Morey (billed as "Harry Morey"), Arnold Daly, Benjamin F. Finney Jr. (billed as "Ben Finney"), Clifton Webb (in his second credited movie role), and Paul Doucet. Note that Clifton Webb plays an English butler in this, his second credited role, and his fifth movie appearance overall (and we have auctioned the lobby card set, and he is prominently pictured on two cards). Also note that the IMDb says that Arnold Daly was not in this movie, which could mean that his role was cut out, but he is mentioned on all the advertising, and also in newspaper stories, so it is possible that the IMDb is simply wrong. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1925 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie poster or lobby card from this movie (only a herald) until we received this complete set of 8 lobby cards! Also, as noted above, this was Clifton Webb's second credited role, and he is prominently pictured on two of the cards, and he also receives billing on the title card. Note that the title card has an artist's signature on it, but we cannot read it. If anyone knows the name of this artist, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. The title card and two of the scenes have slight darkening in the right edge of the right blank border (the title card also has slight darkening in the bottom blank border and some small stains in the lower part of the left blank border). Otherwise, all the cards are in really nice condition, and they are not at all aged or fragile. Learn More about condition grades
