Fields, Mary Brian, Marie Shotwell, Claude Buchanan, Frederick Burton, Barnett Raskin, and Frank Evans. Note that Fields essentially remade this silent movie into the 1935 talking movie "Man on the Flying Trapeze". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned an insert, a herald, and a still (and NO other movie paper) from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also note that this poster was created at a time in 1927 when Paramount was experimenting with their one-sheets. They created some one-sheets with fairly small blank areas at the bottom where the theater could either print information about the show times (like with window cards), or they could provide information about what else they were showing that day, or any other information that they wanted to provide. This was solely done for some 1927 Paramount movies and no others. This poster is one of those special one-sheets from that time (see our image). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had minor wear on the folds. It had two extra horizontal folds, one 3" below the regular middle one, and one running at a slight diagonal between 1 and 3" below the top one. It had some tiny stains scattered in the blue background area below the "NG" of "RUNNING" and below the "I" of "WILD". It had a 6" tear in the top border, slightly affecting the left of the "F" of "FIELDS". It had just a few pinholes and tears around the edges, with several tears in the lower left blank border and some small stains beneath that. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, with no excess linen, and the restorer left alone the tiny background stains described above (or they were acquired after the poster was backed). This really rare poster can certainly be displayed and enjoyed exactly as it is, or one could have slight restoration performed, without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
