A 1951 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #4 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the classic 1937 David Hand Walt Disney animated animation family romantic fairy-tale fantasy musical cartoon ("His first full length feature production"; "In the Marvelous Multiplane Technicolor"; "Behold The Miracle of the Movies! Coming to amaze you, charm you, thrill you!"; "With Eight new songs as catching as 'The Big Bad Wolf.'"; "To thrill you"; "Merriment!"; "Melody!"; "Magic!"; "The dwarfs sing their marching song on the way to work."; "Walt Disney's first full length feature production"; "The show sensation of the generation!"; "Wondrously filmed in all the glories of the marvelous multiplane Technicolor"; "The Screen's Supreme Thrill! 1,000 artists worked three years to give you this once-in-a-lifetime show!... A full hour and a half of the most enthralling entertainment you ever experienced... truly the miracle in motion pictures!") featuring the voices of Adriana Caselotti (in the title role as Snow White), Harry Stockwell (as the Prince), Lucille La Verne, Moroni Olsen, and Stuart Buchanan. Note that this movie is always referred to as a "1937" movie, but it actually only had a limited opening in December 1937 (no doubt to qualify for the Oscars), and then it had its wide opening in February 1938. But because it is always referred to as being from 1937, we refer to it that way as well (and of course, it is technically correct). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that lobby cards from this 1951 re-release of "Snow White" are extremely rare, likely far more rare than those from the first release (there was also a 1943 re-release, and those cards are also quite rare). One would surely think that far fewer theaters showed this movie in 1951 than showed it in 1937, which would likely help account for the rarity. Also note that the scenes from 1951 include some different ones from those of 1937 and 1943, including a wonderful close up of Snow White and The Prince, with the dwarfs rejoicing by them! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. We are doing something in this set of auctions we rarely do! A couple of years ago, we were approached by a very long time collector, and he asked us if he could give us an entire auction of single lobby cards by himself. We agreed, and held that auction in 2017, and later that same year, a different collector sent us a different group of 999 lobby cards and we repeated the process. Now we have a third such "single owner" collection. This one was originally assembled in Australia, which is why some of the cards have either Australian paper snipes attached or Australian ratings stamps (but many do not have them). This collection originally contained 1,100 cards, and we auctioned 100 of them in our March Major Auction, and now we are auctioning the remaining 999 in THIS set of auctions, and after this auction, there will be no more cards to be offered. As will immediately be evident when you look at the cards, many of them are from titles where you almost never see any lobby cards, so this is a rare opportunity to acquire many cards that almost never are offered for sale or at auction! Condition: good to very good. There are a few faint stains and tiny creases around the edges. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
