An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! The poster has pinholes around the edges and some of them were roughly removed, causing tears and some paper loss. There are also tears along parts of several folds and someone put pieces of tape on the back of those. There are also creases scattered throughout the poster. But most significantly, the poster was displayed, and the reds in the poster greatly faded. There was not that much red in the poster to begin with, but it was used to create the flesh colors in the faces, and that red portion is completely gone from their faces, so it is very noticeable there. The new owner of the poster will have to choose whether to leave it as it is, do a partial restoration, or do a full restoration.
