Date Sold 12/21/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) One Mysterious Night, the 1944 Budd Boetticher (billed as "Oscar Boetticher Jr.") Massachusetts detective crime mystery thriller ("What happened to the fabulous diamond 'Blue Star of the Nile'?"; "Boston Blackie solves the blackest crime of his career!"; "Blackie, wipe that smile off your face! You have an appointment with death!") starring Chester Morris ("as 'Boston Blackie'"), Janis Carter, William Wright, Richard Lane, and George E. Stone. Note that this is one of fourteen movies made in the 1940s with Chester Morris playing the fictional character "Boston Blackie", a former crook turned detective (there had been ten silent movies made in the 1920s), all of which were based on short stories by Jack Boyle. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned this poster twice before (and the last time was in 2015!). Condition: fair to good. The poster is in lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the borders and foldlines/crossfolds, and there are one or more areas of significant foldline and/or crossfold separation. The lower vertical foldline has completely separated and there are several inches of separation at the bottom crossfold (and lesser separation in the other two crossfolds). Fortunately the poster is otherwise "all there" and after proper restoration it will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
