An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 7 1/2" [11 x 19 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Murder on the Blackboard, the 1934 George Archainbaud female detective mystery crime comedy ("The same Inspector Piper who gave you stitches in 'The Penguin Pool Murder' gets to the bottom of another baffling crime...after the Iowa school marm tells him the answers!"; "They laughed when Miss Withers sniffed a clue; but kicked themselves ever after for laughing") starring Edna May Oliver (as Hildegarde Withers), James Gleason (as Inspector Oscar Piper), Bruce Cabot, Gertrude Michael, Regis Toomey, Tully Marshall, and Edgar Kennedy. Note that this was one of a series of six very popular detective comedies starring a female detective named Hildegarde Withers, who assists a police detective named Oscar Piper. The first movie in the series was "Penguin Pool Murder" in 1932, and Edna May Oliver played her in the first three movies, and then Helen Broderick played her in one, and Zasu Pitts in the final two.
