Date Sold 6/11/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Song o' My Heart, the 1930 Frank Borzage romantic lost love family relationship musical ("John McCormack in the Fox Movieton Talking, Singing Romance"; "Story by Tom Barry"; "Youth, Love and Comedy woven into a wistful romance by the golden voice of John McCormack"; "A Movietone romance with Song, comedy and Sentiment"; "Hear McCormack sing!"; McCormack was a celebrated Irish tenor who Fox signed to a contract, and instead of just making a concert of his singing, they added an elaborate soap opera story line where the love of his life is forced to marry another man, and he never forgets her; when she dies and leaves two orphan children, he takes care of them, in memory of his lost love; of course, the plot is just an excuse for many Irish love songs that McCormack sings) starring John McCormack, Maureen O'Sullivan, J.M. Kerrigan, John Garrick, Tommy Clifford, Alice Joyce, Farrell Macdonald, Effie Ellsler, Andreas De Segurola, Emily Fitzroy, and Edwin Schneider. Note that an unusual bit of trivia about this movie is that McCormack was an Irish singer, and Fox imported young actress Maureen O'Sullivan (then 19) to make the movie more authentic (in her screen debut!), and of course, she became massively successful in Hollywood! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. he cards are printed on a linen-like stock and five of them have pinholes in the corners, but are otherwise in nice condition. One has small paper loss in the right corners and tears in the right border. The card with four people with the small boy in the middle has creases in the left that go through the woman's face, and the card with the close up of Maureen O'Sullivan and Garrick has many water stains scattered throughout, and rusty nail holes in each corner. So six of the cards range from "very good" to "very good to fine" and one is "good" and one is "fair" (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
