Aron & Isidor Simkov Russian historical biographical political melodrama (about Lenin's life right after the Russian Revolution, when he was the leader of the newly formed country) starring Boris Shchukin (in the title role as Vladimir Lenin), Nikolai Okhlopkov, Aleksandr Shatov, Vasiliy Markov, Vasili Vanin, Nikolay Cherkasov, and Mikheil Gelovani (as Joseph Stalin). Note that when this film was re-released in 1956, Gelovani's scenes were removed from the film due to the De-Stalinization which took place after his death. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Russian movie! Also note that this Russian poster was printed in Russia, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in Finnish speaking areas. Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this poster is one of a collection of 36 similar posters that we were consigned (and are currently auctioning in 36 separate auctions). They include Russian, Uzbek, Ukranian, and Latvian posters, and some of them are movie posters, and others are circus posters, with a few other kinds of posters. All of these posters are incredibly rare, and on the vast majority of them, we have never auctioned them before, and it may be many years before we auction any of them again. This is a rare opportunity to purchase one or more of these posters, all of which have very striking images! Condition: very good. The poster has tiny paper loss at the top crossfold and pretty minor fold wear. It has creases and small tears scattered down the left and right borders, and someone once put some tape on the back of many of those tears. Learn More about condition grades
