An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 11 supplements, 9 stills, and a one-sheet; see below) (Learn More) Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the 1979 Robert Wise futuristic science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure thriller ("The Human Adventure Is Just Beginning."; "There Is No Comparison."; "The Motion Picture"; "Story by Alan Dean Foster"; "Screenplay by Harold Livingston") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. "Bones" McCoy), James Doohan (as Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott), George Takei (as Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), Nichelle Nichols (as Lieutenant Commander Uhura), Majel Barrett, Persis Khambatta (billed as "presenting Persis Khambatta"), Stephen Collins ("as Lt. Willard Decker"; "as Decker"), and Grace Lee Whitney. Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that this movie was made in 1979. Three years later, Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed a sequel, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a very unusual special presskit. It has an elaborate cover, which has two die-cut flaps on the side, and the cover fits over them and attaches to the bottom of the inside with Velcro! Inside, there are 11 supplements about the movie, including a blue bound magazine-like supplement with biographies of all the stars, plus it contains 9 stills from the movie, and a one-sheet. There are color images on the cover, with the Bob Peak artwork on the inside cover, and a great close up portrait of the cast and a montage of other images on the interior flaps (see our image). This is a special deluxe presskit that we know was given to this Paramount employee, and probably was also sent to larger theaters (we have also seen a more normal "regular" presskit that was likely sent to regular theaters). So the winner of this very elaborate presskit also gets an original one-sheet for the movie! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
