An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41 1/2" x 70" [105 x 178 cm]) (Learn More) Our Dancing Daughters, the 1928 Harry Beaumont Roaring Twenties romantic love triangle showgirl melodrama (about a trio of young ladies, one of whom is a "good" girl trying to pass as "bad", one of whom is a former bad girl who is reformed, and one of whom is a bad girl posing as a good girl; they all are after the handsome young college graduate with a bright future, and he ends up marrying the wrong one, with disastrous results) starring Joan Crawford, Johnny Mack Brown, Nils Asther, Dorothy Sebastian, Anita Page, and Kathlyn Williams NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is missing its bottom section, which measured around 14" x 41 1/2" (what is present measures 41 1/2" x 70" [105 x 178 cm]). That piece surely had the small credits, and possibly additional art, but it seems more likely it would have just had a solid colored background matching the upper part of the poster. The person who found this poster had hopes that he could eventually find an image of the complete poster, so he had it backed onto a large enough piece of linen where a restorer could recreate the missing bottom section at a later time without re-backing the poster. Of course, the new owner of the poster could easily trim that bottom section and then display this poster as it is, because all of the title and likely all of the image, plus the top credited stars, are still present. Also note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned some lobby cards, a few 8x10 stills, and a glass slide from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this three-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The top 70" of the poster was present, so approximately 14" was missing (see above). The portion that was present had some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds, with some small areas of paper loss in parts of some folds and fine surface paper loss on parts of other folds. It had a tear in the top left, at a diagonal to the horizontal fold. It had some smudges, scuffs, and drip stains scattered in parts of the image. It had some paper loss near the bottom of the center image, affecting the "S" of "ASTHER". Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. As noted above, the person who owned it had it backed on a piece of linen large enough that a restorer could recreate the missing area, if an image of it is located, or of course, they could also trim off that excess linen and just have the portion that is present restored. All this will be the choice of the new owner of this poster, but bear everything in mind before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
