An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More)

The Princess Comes Across, the 1936 William K. Howard mistaken identity murder mystery romantic royalty comedy (about an aspiring actress who pretends to be a Swedish princess on a cruise ship, who is coming to America to make a movie, and she gets mixed up with a musician on the ship, plus two murders!) starring Carole Lombard, Fred MacMurray, Douglass Dumbrille, Alison Skipworth, William Frawley, Porter Hall, George Barbier, Mischa Auer, and Tetsu Komai (Japanese actor appearing in Hollywood movies from the 1920s to the 1950s; he never achieved much success, and after Pearl Harbor, he continued making movies, but without much more success; he mostly played stock Asian characters). Note that not only did this movie showcase Carole Lombard's great talent for comedy, but it also allowed her to mimic Greta Garbo!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good. a 3" semi-circular tear between the stars (mostly in the yellow background but touching the edge of MacMurray's hair); many smudges and light stains throughout the poster, but fortunately there are almost none in the stars' images, and they are not very distracting; Know that while I can easily imagine someone displaying this card just as it is, you should know that this is the sort of poster that responds well to restoration. After a relatively simple linenbacking, the poster would look great and there would not be much paint anywhere on the poster!

This window card is in "lesser" condition (it is clearly in less than "very good" condition, and may be all the way down to "fair" condition, as we are selling a collection of early window cards that were found inside of a wall, and those all have water stains and other defects, which should be easily seen on our large images)! This window card has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right. In addition, we have also noted in words what these defects are in our "Description of Defects" section above, as some of these defects may not be all that visible in the images. We know that some collectors could accept this window card's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this window card if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored. Of course, you should realize that if you do not bid on this window card because of its condition defects, it may be quite some time before you see this window card offered again!
