Date Sold 6/14/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1936 (from the first release of this movie in Czechoslovakia) Vintage Theatrical Folded Czechoslovakian Movie Poster (measures 37 1/2" x 49 3/4" [95 x 126 cm]) (Learn More) Rendezvous, the 1935 William K. Howard & Sam Wood World War I (WWI) spy espionage code-breaking romantic love triangle comedy ("3,000 men sentenced to death by a woman's beauty!"; "Every merry moment packed with thrills!"; about a soldier in World War I who is an expert in breaking codes, so he is assigned to the intelligence department, where he falls in love with the beautiful young niece of the commander, and he also gets entangled with a beautiful Russian spy!) starring William Powell, Rosalind Russell ("introducing his new screen sweetheart, ...gorgeous Rosalind Russell!"), Binnie Barnes, Lionel Atwill, Cesar Romero, Samuel S. Hinds, and Henry Stephenson. Note that this was Rosalind Russell's second year of making movies, and she had appeared in minor roles in quite a few, but this was a much better role for her! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that posters from Czechoslovakia from before World War II are incredibly rare (no doubt because of the massive paper shortages in most European countries during the war, which caused most posters to be recycled). Condition: fair to good. The poster has many small areas of paper loss in the part of the fold that falls near the center of Russell's face (see our image). It has 6" of separation at the bottom of the middle vertical fold and separation and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, with paper loss to the right of the bottom right crossfold. It has tears in the top corners, where pins were roughly removed. It has a few brown dot stains scattered in the bottom center. Without the paper loss in Russell's face, the poster would be in "very good" condition! Obviously, this extremely rare poster can be rescued by a talented restorer, but bear the above defects in mind before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
