An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Clarence E. Mulford's Bar 20 (Twenty) Justice, the 1938 Lesley Selander cowboy western ("Hopalong Cassidy rides into another roaring adventure!"; based on the story by Clarence E. Mulford) starring William Boyd (as Hopalong Cassidy), Russell Hayden, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Paul Sutton, Gwen Gaze, Pat J. O'Brien (billed as "Pat O'Brien"; not THE Pat O'Brien who was part of the "Irish Mafia" with Cagney and McHugh, but another actor who appeared in 17 films between 1921 and 1941), and John Beach NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good. The poster had an extra horizontal foldline 2" above the regular top one. There was a 1" tear in the left of the top foldline in Boyd's hat. There was small paper loss at the crossfolds and many small tears and some tiny areas of paper loss down the center foldline. There were pinholes and some light smudges around the edges of the poster. There were two 8" horizontal creases in the left of the middle of the poster running through the top and middle of the "JUS" of "JUSTICE". The person who restored the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges. The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! There is little actual paper loss anywhere on the poster. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, and from any distance away it looks quite nice, but if one wanted, the poster could be re-mounted, and there could be added restoration so as to make this great poster looks "perfect"!
