An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) The Girl Can't Help It, the 1956 Frank Tashlin romantic musical nightclub romantic comedy ("Based a story by Garson Kanin"; about a down-and-out gangster who hires an alcoholic press agent to make his blonde bombshell girlfriend a recording star in 6 months) starring Tom Ewell, Jayne Mansfield, Edmond O'Brien, Julie London, Ray Anthony, Barry Gordon, ("Featuring") Henry Jones, John Emery, Juanita Moore, Henry Kulky, ("and introducing the following rock 'n' roll stars") Fats Domino, The Platters, Little Richard & His Band, Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps, The Treniers, Eddie Fontaine, The Chuckles, Abbey Lincoln, Johnny Glenn, Nino Tempo, and Eddie Cochran. Note that it is funny that the producers said that they were "introducing the following rock 'n' roll stars", because certainly some of them had previously appeared in movies! This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had minor wear along the foldlines and some minor border defects. There were a few faint smudges in the white background areas.
