An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Jim "Catfish" Hunter was a professional baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1965 to 1979. He pitched a perfect game on May 8, 1968 and received the Cy Young Award in 1974. The Oakland Athletics retired his uniform number (#27) and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987. Catfish passed away in 1999 at the age of 53. He suffered from ALS, the same disease as Lou Gehrig. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jim "Catfish" Hunter! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall!
