Date Sold 5/3/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More) Man on the Flying Trapeze (released in England as "The Memory Expert"), the 1935 Clyde Bruckman family relationship slapstick comedy (from a story by Charles Bogle, which was a pseudonym for W.C. Fields) starring W.C. Fields ("The lovable Micawber of 'David Copperfield' and the hilarious skipper of 'Mississippi' in his latest comedy hit"), Mary Brian, Kathleen Howard, Grady Sutton, James Burke, Edward Gargan, and Walter Brennan (as one of the two men who break into Fields' house and get drunk on his moonshine!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet (27 years ago for $3,450), four lobby cards (one of which sold for $3,827), and some stills from this movie until we received this window card! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Condition: good to very good. There is faint discoloration over the entire card. The card had a blank top area that was partially trimmed off, and there is a 1/2" tear in the center of that blank border. There is tiny surface paper loss in the "T" of "Trapeze" at bottom center, and a tiny stain in the bottom of the "E" of "FIELDS". In spite of the above defects, the card can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, one could choose to have restoration performed to this extremely rare window card.
