An Original Vintage Autographed Movie Souvenir Program Book (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 20 pages) (Learn More) Butterfly McQueen (born Thelma McQueen) was a black African American actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. Some of her movies include: Gone With the Wind (as the house servant, Prissy; where she had the memorable line, "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies"), A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Brown Sugar. She passed away in 1995 at the age of 84. Artist: Armando Seguso Important Added Info: Note that this souvenir program book (which is an example of the 1939 program book for this classic movie) has been personally autographed (signed) by Butterfly McQueen! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that we have pictured the front cover and an interior 2-page spread from this program. You can use these images to determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are some other pages you are not seeing. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. There are many light stains, smudges, and darkening in the blank areas of the cover. This program book was given as a gift in 1940 to someone named "Dearie" from someone named "Pudgy", and that inscription is on the cover in addition to Miss McQueen's autograph.
