An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Playbill (measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2"; 36 pages) (Learn More) Green Pastures, the 1930 - 1931 Broadway stage play production (of Roark Bradford's book; written by Marc Connelly; about a Negro Heaven; all of the parts were played by black actors, including God, but the play was written and produced by white men, Marc Connelly and Rowland Stebbins) starring Freddie Archibald, Edgar Birks, Alicia Escamilla, Mercedes Gilbert, and Richard B. Harrison. Note that this play was turned into a movie by Warner Bros. in 1936. Important Added Info: Note that this playbill has been personally autographed (signed) by Marc Connelly, Avon Long, AND John Marriott! Note that Marc Connelly was the author of the play, but Long and Marriott were not in this production, but were actors who appeared in the 1957 TV version of this play! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: very good. The covers are separating at the bottom of the spine and there are some tiny creases along the spine, but otherwise, the playbill is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
