It's the drama of his come-back, a wonderful story of romance and courage, packed with fun and thrills. It's also the story of that girl he met on a blind date!"; "The True Romance of The Year"; about Chicago White Sox baseball pitcher Monty Stratton, who lost his leg; with an Academy Award winning screenplay by Douglas Morrow) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; in the title role as Monty Stratton), June Allyson, Frank Morgan, Agnes Moorehead, Bill Williams, Gene Bearden (as himself), and Holmes Herbert (uncredited as the doctor). Note that Gene Bearden was the real life baseball World Series hero from the 1949 Cleveland Indians, and also was Rookie of the Year. He played himself in this movie, as well as "The Kid From Cleveland", made the same year. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the poster says "AN M-G-M MASTERPIECE REPRINT" in the bottom center. This was a terminology used by MGM at this time for some re-releases, and it has caused some collectors to be confused! This is the original title card from the 1956 re-release of this movie, and is NOT a "reprint"! Condition: very good. There is a faint partial horizontal crease in the lower left border that extends to the edge of Stewart's mouth, but it is barely noticeable. Otherwise, the card is in pretty nice condition.
