Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Ride 'Em Cowgirl, the 1939 Samuel Diege gambling singing cowboy western musical (a complicated story about a border town where bad guys want to take over the saloon, and a courageous girl stops them) starring Dorothy Page ("The Singing Cowgirl"), Milton Frome, Vince Barnett, Lynn Mayberry, and Frank Ellis. Note that Dorothy Page had a very interesting background! She married a doctor in 1925 when she was 21, and in the early 1930s, they were struggling, and she auditioned for Paul Whiteman, and became a singer with his band. In 1935, she was signed by Universal and appeared in two movies, but they dropped her. In 1937, Grand National, which was on the verge of bankruptcy after their disastrous loss on Something to Sing About, signed her to become "The Singing Cowgirl", and they made four movies with her over two years, but those did not do well, and the series was killed. She had several marriages and personal misfortunes, and she passed away in 1961 at the age of 57. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a scene lobby card for this movie. We are also selling a title lobby card elsewhere on eBay this week. Condition: fine. The card has some light smudges around the edges, but is in otherwise very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
