Gordon Edwards Italian/U.S. silent Ancient Rome Italy historical biographical romantic melodrama ("Story by Charles Sarver and Virginia Tracy"; an epic re-telling of the life of Nero, including all the major events) starring Jacques Gretillat (in the title role as Nero), Sandro Salvini, Guido Trento, Enzo De Felice, Nerio Bernardi, Violet Mersereau (the only American in the cast), Adolfo Trouche (as Hercules), Paulette Duval (as Poppaea), and Edy Darclea. Note that Fox spent lots of money on this production and it was filmed in Italy, and includes scenes of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the burning of Rome! Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this one-sheet, and that was 32 years ago. That poster has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. It had some pinholes, small tears, stains, and some tiny paper loss around the edges. It had staining in the left end of the middle fold and surface paper loss in the center of the bottom border, where a sticker was once attached. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
