King of the Coral Sea, the 1953 (released in the U.S. in 1956) Lee Robinson Australian scuba diving underwater ocean romantic crime adventure thriller ("Sail the South Pacific... to Spectacular Adventure!"; "A beautiful girl is the pawn in a deadly game of deep sea fortune hunting and international intrigue!"; "Actually filmed in the treacherous waters and fabulous islands of the Coral Sea!"; "Thrill-swept adventure on and below the coral reefs!"; about the practice up until the 1950s of hiring illegal aliens to scuba dive to retrieve coral; in the movie, a body is discovered among the coral, and that exposes a ring that is coercing poor people to retrieve coral, and a company has modern machinery that can do the job without risking lives!) starring Chips Rafferty (who co-wrote the screenplay and produced the movie), Ilma Adey, Charles Tingwell, Rod Taylor, and Lloyd Berrell
