An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Bonnie Brier Bush, the 1921 Donald Crisp English/U.S. silent Scotland romantic love triangle melodrama ("Adapted from the novel by Ian MacLaren and the plays by James MacArthur and Augustus Thomas"; about a Scottish lord who is expected to marry the most beautiful woman in his village, but he loves the deacon's daughter, and fortunately for him, the beautiful woman loves someone else too, and after many complications, it all works out!) starring Donald Crisp, Mary Glynne, Alec Fraser, Dorothy Fane, and Jack East. Note that this was one of 11 movies made between 1920 and 1922 where a very young Alfred Hitchcock was the "title designer". Of course, not long after this, he went on to become a director, and to say that he had considerable success would be an understatement. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything other than a lobby card and a still from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
