An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Dangerous Money, the 1946 Terry O. Morse mystery crime thriller ("Suggested by Earl Derr Biggers' character") starring Sidney Toler ("as Charlie Chan"), Victor Sen Yung (billed as "Victor Sen Young"), Rick Vallin, Joseph Crehan, Willie Best, and Gloria Warren. Note that the very first Charlie Chan movie was "House Without a Key" in 1925, with George Kuwa as Chan. In 1927, "The Chinese Parrot" (directed by Paul Leni) starred Sojin Kamiyama as Chan. In 1929 came the third movie, "Behind That Curtain", starring E.L. Park as Charlie Chan. 1931 brought "Charlie Chan Carries On", starring Warner Oland in the first of many movies with him as the Asian detective, and he was later replaced by Sidney Toler and then Roland Winters (there would ultimately be 47 Charlie Chan movies!). Of course, Charlie Chan is one of the most memorable literary creations ever, from author Earl Derr Biggers, but because politically correct-minded people have viewed the character as outdated, the movies are rarely shown, which is a shame!

Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one in all our years of auctioning and that was in 2006!

Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has a few tears of varying lengths around the edges and the right edge was partially folded back at one time. It has some creases at upper right, some of which are sharp and cut through paper (and they are repaired with tape from the back). There are some scuffs and smudges scattered in various areas. After proper restoration the very rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
