An Original 1935 (from the first Swedish release of this movie) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 39 1/2") (Learn More) Mater Dolorosa, the 1933 Abel Gance French romantic infidelity family relationship murder crime melodrama (written by Abel Gance; about a married woman who has an affair with her husband's brother, and when she is despondent and tries to commit suicide, her lover prevents her but is himself shot, and he writes a suicide note, thus protecting the wife, but the truth eventually comes out, and after much turmoil, the husband ultimately forgives his wife) starring Jean Galland, Line Noro, Antonin Artaud, Gaston Dubosc, Alice Dufrene, Samson Fainsilber, Jean Servais, and Gaby Triquet. Note that director Abel Gance is of course the man who made the magnificent "Napoleon" in 1927, which was many decades ahead of its time! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Ujertquist Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. There were some pinholes, creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, but the image area of the poster was in nice condition. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer spent little effort on the border defects, likely rightfully assuming they will not show after the poster is framed. Learn More about condition grades
