An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Danish Movie Poster (measures 25 1/2" x 35 1/2" [65 x 90 cm]) (Learn More) Morfinisten (released in the U.S. as "The Morphine Takers"), the 1911 Louis von Kohl Danish silent morphine drug addiction melodrama starring Lili Beck, Alfred Cohn, Vera Fjelstrup, Edvard Jacobsen, and Ella Jacobsen. We don't know if there were earlier drug movies than this one, but it is surely one of the earliest, and it certainly is very "hard-hitting" in its approach to its subject. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Danish movie! We would think it is surely from the first release of the movie, because there is absolutely nothing to indicate that it is from a later release. Eight years ago, we auctioned one other example of this poster, and that one was linenbacked, so it is surely a different example, but that is the only other movie paper from this movie we have ever auctioned. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine.
