An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Seven Sinners, the 1940 Tay Garnett South Seas U.S. Navy romantic love triangle gambling adventure comedy (based on an original story by Ladislas Fodor and Laslo Vadnai; about a cabaret singer who is kicked off of one South Pacific island, and arrives at another one with a U.S. Navy base, and she attracts the love of a Navy Lieutenant and a local mobster) starring Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne, Albert Dekker, Broderick Crawford, Mischa Auer, Billy Gilbert, Anna Lee, Samuel S. Hinds, Oscar Homolka, Reginald Denny, Vince Barnett, and Richard Carle NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. There were some tears just above the right side of the top crossfold including some that extend into Dietrich's arm and body. There were some small tears and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. There were some creases and tiny areas of surface paper loss in the center of the bottom foldline. The poster was pretty well restored, but you can still see signs of the creases in the top center of the image. Learn More about condition grades
