Park, Utah, the 1930s train railroad railway travel poster ("See all three - Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon National Parks - combined in one low-cost circle trip") promoting a railroad trip to three National Parks, and featuring art of horseback riders enjoying Bryce Canyon. Given that the inset circle promotes also seeing Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Zion National Park in Utah, we would imagine that there were probably two other posters created that promote those two parks, but if so, we have never auctioned either of those. Note that the bottom of this poster was overprinted with the name of the railway promoting the trip, as the poster was printed to be used by multiple companies (similar to a stock movie poster, which could be used for multiple movies). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had unevenly spaced horizontal folds, with some extra horizontal folds scattered throughout the poster (it looks like it was roughly handled while it was rolled). There are small tears and tiny surface paper loss on several of those folds. There is an 8" vertical tear in the bottom center of the poster. The poster had 2" to 3" of paper loss in the bottom area, affecting the lower half of the words there. It also had many creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed with no real restoration to the above defects, and the person who backed it did not do the best job, because there are areas in the top border that are chipping (see our image). If I owned this beautiful poster, I would surely have it removed from the linen and properly re-backed, after which, it will look fantastic. But bear in mind the poster's considerable defects and the cost of additional restoration before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
