A Movie Script Copy (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Charlie Chan at the Race Track, the 1936 H. Bruce Humberstone Asian detective horse racing sports gambling mystery crime thriller ("Based on the character 'Charlie Chan' created by Earl Derr Biggers") starring Warner Oland (in the title role as Charlie Chan), Keye Luke (as Lee Chan), Helen Wood, Thomas Beck, Alan Dinehart, Gavin Muir, Jonathan Hale, and Sam Flint. Note that the very first Charlie Chan movie was "House Without a Key" in 1925, with George Kuwa as Chan. In 1927, "The Chinese Parrot" (directed by Paul Leni) starred Sojin Kamiyama as Chan. In 1929 came the third movie, "Behind That Curtain", starring E.L. Park as Charlie Chan. 1931 brought "Charlie Chan Carries On", starring Warner Oland in the first of many movies with him as the Asian detective, and he was later replaced by Sidney Toler and then Roland Winters (there would ultimately be 47 Charlie Chan movies!). Of course, Charlie Chan is one of the most memorable literary creations ever, from author Earl Derr Biggers, but because politically correct-minded people have viewed the character as outdated, the movies are rarely shown, which is a shame! This means that it is a copy of the original script (likely created by a store, which would acquire original scripts and then make exact copies of all the pages and then reassemble them). There was a store in Hollywood called "Script City", which sold lots of these, and there were several other sources for these as well. This is NOT an original script! However, it is exactly like the original one, and certainly can be read and enjoyed, and it will surely cost a fraction of the price of an original script (and likely under the prices that stores have sold these copy scripts for).
