Date Sold 2/10/2019 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 6 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Countdown, the 1968 Robert Altman science fiction (sci-fi) astronaut space race thriller ("The motion picture that puts a man on the moon and you follow him every terrifying second of the way"; "The personal story of the man fate picked to live the great adventure of the century."; "Based on the novel by Hank Searls"; about the first man to land on the moon in a race to beat the Russians; released just 16 months before the first manned mission to the moon!) starring James Caan (in his fifth credited movie role!), Joanna Moore, Robert Duvall, Barbara Baxley, Steve Ihnat, and Charles Aidman NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there are one or more duplicates in this lot as can be seen in our images. Please do not bid on this lot thinking you will receive all different stills. Note also that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1968, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
