An Undated (probably 1941) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Devil Dogs of the Air, the 1935 Lloyd Bacon United States Marine Corps (USMC) post-World War I (WWI) military airplane aviation stunt pilot romantic love triangle comedy action thriller ("The Great Stars of 'Here Comes The Navy' Spread Their Wings!"; "Based on the story by John Monk Saunders"; the age-old story of a brash young pilot who joins the Marine Flying Corps, and he clashes with his older mentor and they fight over the same girl, but ultimately, he comes to see the value of patriotism to his comrades and his country) starring James Cagney, Pat O'Brien, Margaret Lindsay, Frank McHugh, and John Arledge NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the poster is undated, but it has a litho number, and comparing this number to our massive database of litho numbers taken from actual movie posters, we can determine that this poster is certainly from 1941! It most likely is from the end of 1941, because it makes perfect sense that Warner Bros. would re-release this right after Pearl Harbor (with the tagline "Brought back - because it's great!"), because the U.S. entering World War II made this movie much more relevant (but they "cheated" with these 1941 re-release posters, and put the pilots in World War II planes with enclosed cockpits, whereas in the movie they are in World War I prop planes with open cockpits! Of course, the following year, after Warner Bros.' top stars enlisted in the military, they started re-releasing their top 1930s hits (to make up for lack of new product), but this 1941 re-release predates that. Condition: good to very good. There is minor separation at the crossfolds and some of the ends of the foldlines, small separation along some of the foldlines, and there are a few tack holes scattered throughout the poster (repaired with tape from the back).
