An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is absolutely no doubt that this still is from the first release of this classic movie, because of its theater stamp on the back with "4 days starts Sun. May 10" written in pencil below it, and there is a date stamp from a newspaper below that that says "MAY 3 1931" (the movie had premiered February 14). Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The still has light water staining scattered in the top 2", including in Lugosi's hair, but mostly in the background. There is tiny paper loss in the left blank corners. There are some small tears in the left border and a 1" tear and smaller tears in the right border, and someone put clear tape on the back of those, and also a small piece of clear tape on the back of the center of the top and bottom borders, when this was attached to a mat. There are a few scuffs scattered in the image. In spite of these defects, this amazing still can certainly be displayed as it is. It is also quite likely that a talented restorer could remove some or all of the water stains through chemical means, and of course, other restoration could be performed. But please bear all of this in mind before bidding on this great still! Learn More about condition grades
