Date Sold 12/6/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Framed Original Vintage Movie Animation Cel (measures 16" x 19" [41 x 48 cm]) (Learn More) Bugs Bunny is an animated animation cartoon rabbit created in 1938 at Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons) by Tex Avery and Robert McKimson. He was voiced by Mel Blanc from 1938 to 1989. His popularity led to his becoming a corporate mascot of the Warner Bros. company. Bugs has appeared in more films than any other cartoon character and is the ninth most portrayed film personality in the world. Important Added Info: Note that this auction is for an original production cel from Warner Bros.' "Bugs Bunny Mystery Special" from 1980, which was a really wacky cartoon (a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock) in which Elmer Fudd is an FBI agent, and Bugs get mistaken for a bank robber and goes to Sing Sing prison, where the warden is Yosemite Sam, and he escapes, and Elmer and Sam chase him, including on Mt. Rushmore, and at the end, the real bank robber is revealed to be Porky Pig, who was just trying to get the cartoon started! Also note that the item comes with a "certificate of authenticity" from Steve Felton, Director of Warner Bros. Animation Art, which is attached to the back of the frame (see our image). There is also a seal from Warner Bros. on the cel in the bottom right corner (see our image). Condition: very good to fine. The cel and the frame are in nice condition!
