An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Spanish Movie Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 39 1/2" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More)

Hai-Tang, the 1930 Richard Eichberg & Jean Kimm English/German historical romantic melodrama (about a Chinese cabaret singer who is romanced by a lecherous duke, and then her brother intercedes, and her brother is sentenced to death, and she will do anything to save him) starring Anna May Wong (in the title role as Hai-Tang), Marcel Vibert, Robert Ancelin, Armand Lurville, and Helen Darly. This was a French version of "The Flame of Love", made by British International Pictures in 1930. Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie, except it was released in German, English, and French (all three versions starred Anna May Wong; the English language version co-starred Georg H. Schnell, and the German version, "Der Weg zur Schande" co-starred Francis Lederer). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is one of six incredibly rare Spanish posters from the very early to mid 1930s. If you have collected for any length of time, you surely know that pre-war Spanish posters are among the most rare posters there are, and that the ones from the early 1930s, like U.S. ones, are even more rare than the ones from the later 1930s. So where did these six come from? Our consignor purchased them on a trip to Spain in the 1960s, and has held them all these years since! This is a very rare opportunity to purchase one of these six Spanish posters, with great images! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster has slight darkening in a small part of the bottom blank border and a tiny part of the rest of the borders. It has a few small tears in the right blank border. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will display wonderfully!
