The Rack, the 1956 Arnold Laven Korean War military courtroom lawyer prisoner of war (POW) legal torture-and-how-much-can-a-man-take-before-he-cracks melodrama ("Not since 'The Caine Mutiny' such a drama"; "All the drama, the suspense, the power of 'The Caine Mutiny'!"; "Based on the teleplay by Rod Serling") starring Paul Newman (billed as "Paul Newman a wonderful new star!"), Wendell Corey, Walter Pidgeon, Edmond O'Brien, Anne Francis, Lee Marvin (in a key role), Cloris Leachman, Robert Burton, Robert Simon, Trevor Bardette, Adam Williams, James Best, Fay Roope, and Barry Atwater. Note that this movie reunited Anne Francis and Walter Pidgeon from the movie they had made the same year, Forbidden Planet, where they played father and daughter!
