An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-release (re-titled "Prison Bait" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41") (Learn More) Reform School, the 1939 Leo C. Popkin all-black African American prison juvenile delinquent crime comedy starring Louise Beavers, Harlem's Tuff Kids (a black version of the Dead End Kids!), Reginald Fenderson, Monte Hawley, Eugene Jackson, and an "all colored cast". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this all-black movie was released in 1939 by tiny Million Dollar Pictures, a maker of all-black cast movies. It appears that in the early 1940s (but perhaps as late as 1946) that Million Dollar re-released the movie as "Prison Bait", and that in 1948, Toddy Pictures purchased the rights to this movie, along with many other all-black cast movies, and re-released it under the re-release title "Prison Bait". Posters from the Toddy release are sometimes mistakenly sold as first release, and posters and lobby cards from the first 1939 release are extremely rare! Condition: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at each crossfold and some tiny paper loss at the left and right ends of some of the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (but any restorer could probably touch them up without re-backing the poster).
