An Original Undated (probably 1940s; likely from the first Belgian release of this movie) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 11 3/4" x 16 1/2") (Learn More) The Clutching Hand, the 1936 Albert Herman serial science fiction (sci-fi) masked super villain crime mystery thriller serial ("A Craig Kennedy Thriller in fifteen chapters from the novel by Arthur B. Reeve") starring Jack Mulhall, William Farnum, Ruth Mix (daughter of Tom Mix, who appeared in around a dozen movies, starting as a teenager), Marion Shilling, Yakima Canutt, Rex Lease, and Mae Busch. Note that the IMDb says that the official title of this movie is "The Amazing Exploits of the Clutching Hand", but we have never seen any movie paper with that title (but it apparently does exist on some film prints). Also, like many other serials of the time, a feature version was created by editing the chapters of the serial into a 74 minute movie which had the same name as the serial and was also released in 1936. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a theater diagram printed on the back. According to a Belgian expert, this is not the same as the 1940s Belgian posters that are printed on the back of old posters or maps. In this case, the theater owner wanted to show patrons the layout of the theater, and, to save money, he had the theater layout printed on the back of old posters. So in this case, the poster was printed first, and a theater layout was overprinted afterwards. Condition: fair to good. The grid work from the timetable printed on the back bleeds through to the front. It is much more obvious in the borders and light background areas, but it shows throughout the poster. It is no fault of the poster itself that this bleed through is there, because that it how it was when it was first printed, but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this bleed through.
