Nor dead... Just a White Zombie performing his every desire"; "They knew this fiend was practicing zombiism on the natives, but when he tried it on a white girl the nation revolted") starring Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela [Dracula] Lugosi"; as "Murder" Legendre), Madge Bellamy, Joseph Cawthorn, Robert Frazer, and John Harron NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we believe that this herald (which we have never auctioned before) is not from the first release of this movie in 1932. It appears that the movie played roadshow engagements throughout the 1930s, and we have seen some movie paper that has a roadshow look to it (including a great one-sheet that has the tagline about zombie eyes and zombie grip). The date on this herald corresponds to either 1935 or 1940, and either of those are really possible (and it has taglines on it that are not on other paper we have seen). Please do not bid on this herald thinking it is from 1932, as it is surely from a roadshow re-release. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of 31 heralds we are currently auctioning (in 31 separate auctions). They were collected over many decades, and include many wonderful horror ones, plus other very top titles. If one tried to duplicate this collection, it would likely take many years to do so! Condition: good to very good. The herald has creases around the edges and a faint partial vertical crease in the top 4" of the front cover. It has some darkening in parts of the borders and a small stain in the center of the top of the cover (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
