An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) The First World War, the 1934 Laurence Stallings (there is no credited director for this documentary, but Stallings wrote the source book and edited it) World War I (WWI) military documentary ("For women who cherish life! For men who cherish living!"; "Can this happen again? Is it happening now?"; "From the secret archives of all the great nations!"; "At last you can see mankind's confession!"; "All humanity the actors! All of life the plot!"; "It tells the truth - you've waited 20 years to hear!"; "Every scene a living newspaper headline!"; "...secret films from nations' archives"; "Produced by Truman Talley [in association with Simon & Schuster]"; this was produced by the Fox Movietone News arm of Fox Film Corporation and was based on the book by Lawrence Stallings; it was originally a Fox Movietone newsreel, and it was expanded into a feature film, and using stock-and-archive footage, it tells the story of World War I from inception to conclusion) narrated by Pedro de Cordoba NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was lightly tri-folded at one time and there were pinholes in the corners and a few scattered minor scuffs in the image.
