An Original Vintage Linenbacked Circus Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 41" [72 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Combined Shows, the circa 1920s circus poster ("Pallenberg's Wonder Bears"; "Bruins That Dance, Skate, Walk Tightropes And Ride Bicycles Like Humans") featuring art of bears performing a circus act including walking on stilts, playing instruments, roller skating and riding various bicycles. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had minor wear on the folds. It had creases, tears, and some smudges in the borders, with tears and stains scattered in the bottom blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
