NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Bob McCall Important Added Info: Note that this special set of 4 postcards LOOKS like they were surely made in 1968. This is because they have a 1968 copyright on the back of each (from the Personality Posters Inc. company, which made the black and white personality posters that people hung on their walls in the 1960s and 1970s). They also have a Cinerama logo below the 2001 name on the back. However, we know for certain that they were actually made between May 16, 1971 and March 2, 1974! How do we know that? Because of two reasons. First, because they have a printed area for a postage stamp on the back of each that says "PLACE 6 cent STAMP HERE", and the cost to mail a postcard was 6 cents only between the two dates listed above. In addition, two of the postcards have the tagline "2001: THE ULTIMATE TRIP", and we know from poster designer Mike Kaplan that this tagline was NOT used in 1968, but was first used by him in 1970. So these postcards date from somewhere between 1971 and 1974. They are VERY cool and clearly very rare, because we have never auctioned them before! If anyone knows more about these, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. The two larger cards each have a small crease in one corner, mostly in the black border area in one and completely in the black border area in the other. Otherwise, all four are in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
