Flynn silent science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy adventure comedy ("Direct from a sensational run on Broadway, New York"; "William Fox presents Mark Twain's Greatest Comedy"; originally written in 1889, about a contemporary man sent back to medieval times, and he appears to be a wizard thanks to his much greater knowledge; one could make a similar movie today about a man from the 2020s visiting 1889 Connecticut, and it he would have similar wizard-like abilities!) starring Harry Myers (in the title role as Martin Cavendish, The Yankee), Pauline Starke, Rosemary Theby (as Queen Morgan le Fay), Charles Clary (as King Arthur), William V. Mong (as Merlin), and Karl Formes (as Mark Twain). Note that this movie was remade as "A Connecticut Yankee" in 1931 starring Will Rogers, in 1949 starring Bing Crosby, and also as a TV movie in 1955 starring Eddie Albert and Boris Karloff! Only 3 reels of this film survive. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
