Taut! Terrific!"; the screenwriter, Anthony Veiller, came up with a "prequel" to the classic short story, and he devised a very interesting and very believable back-story that would explain the actions of the characters in Hemingway's story) starring Burt Lancaster (in his first screen role; billed as "introducing Burt Lancaster"), Ava Gardner, Edmond O'Brien, Albert Dekker, Sam Levene, Virginia Christine, Charles D. Brown, William Conrad, Charles McGraw, Jack Lambert, Vera Lewis, Harry Hayden, Jeff Corey, and Jack Cheatham NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one in all our years of auctioning and that was in 2015 and it sold for $310! Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. Some portions of the insert have a scuffed and rippled appearance. There are pairs of staple holes along portions of the foldlines and edges and there are three patches of surface paper loss at top and bottom from rough removal of tape. Someone crossed the letters "re" at bottom from the word "re-release". It is otherwise mostly "all there" and after proper restoration the very rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
