An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Animal Crackers, the classic 1930 Victor Heerman crime screwball comedy starring The Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo), Lillian Roth, Margaret Dumont, Louis Sorin, Hal Thompson, and Margaret Irving. Note that this movie features the classic line, "One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know."!

Condition: very good. There is small paper loss in the bottom corners. There are creases around the edges of the card and a few very slight ones within the image area. There is a scuff mark near the middle of Dumont's dress (mostly in the background). Note that Paramount at this time printed their lobby cards on EXTREMELY high-gloss paper stock, and it is very much like that used for 8x10 photos of the time. When you turn the card to the light, you can see some scuffs within the surface emulsion of the card, but when you look straight on, these slight scuff marks are virtually invisible. There was apparently a piece of tape on the back of the top left of the card and someone removed it, creating a 1/2" x 4" area of surface paper loss on the back of the card in that area (but the card stock of the card is thick enough, that it has no effect on the front). Other than this tape removal, there has been no restoration of any kind to the card. The card displays well, and I would think most collectors would be happy to display this great card on their wall as is, but any talented restorer could surely make the card look great after performing restoration to the above noted defects!
