An Original Vintage Linenbacked Italian Special Movie Poster (measures 25 1/4" x 33 1/2" [64 x 85 cm]) (Learn More) Carrera Panamericana (literally translates to "Pan American Race") was a border-to-border sedan and sports car racing event on open roads in Mexico from 1950 to 1954. 27 people died during the five years of the Panamericana, giving it one of the highest mortality rates per race in the history of motor sports, primarily because racing speeds almost doubled as a result of technical improvements, but safety remained static and competitors, spectators and safety personnel alike became casualties.
